So what the heck is all this virtual stuff about, what is a VA anyway, and how does it all work? Like you, a Virtual Assistant is an artist. But instead of paint, clay, or metal, our media are computers, telephones, and fax machines. Our skills are not in the creation of images, but in the handling of day to day business tasks. Most VAs have worked many years in a corporate environment, as secretaries, administrative assistants, or executive assistants. But now, instead of being an employee, they have become business owners themselves, and enjoy providing support to other business owners and professionals. Thanks to technology, a VA can provide this service from her own home office. Communication is handled through e-mail, instant messages, telephone, faxes, snail mail, and other delivery services. There are many advantages to working virtually. The VA doesn't take up any of your space, and you don't need to buy equipment for her. More advantages can be found on my VA Benefits page. Does it work? Yes. More and more professionals and small business owners are discovering how working virtually can help them achieve more. A short list of professionals who are already working with VAs includes coaches, authors, real estate agents, speakers, architects, and consultants of all types. Will it work for you? If you're open to and excited by learning new ways of working together and communicating, and you're eager to take advantage of this new business resource, then you're the type of person who will benefit most from working with a VA. For more information, check my page of media sources. It includes links to many on-line articles about virtual assistance as well as guidelines to help find the VA that is just right for your unique needs. |
